Abu Dhabi: The UAE has been named the safest country in the world to walk safely at night. It also ranks second in the law and order index. The Gallup Global Law and Order Index was the top gainer.
Ninety-five percent of those polled were in favor of the UAE, followed by Norway with 93 percent. The UAE (93) lost the top spot by one point in the law and order index. Norway leads the table with 94 points. The index is based on public opinion about one’s own security and trust in the rule of law.
The UAE (98.5%) also topped the Women, Peace and Security Index released by Georgetown University in October. Singapore (96.9%) was in second place. Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah Emirates have been ranked in the list of 10 safest cities in the world by Nambio this year.
