Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi will take off next month for the first long-duration space mission from the Arab world. The mission will begin on February 26 and last for six months. Sultan Al Neyadi will travel to space on a SpaceX Falcon-9 rocket from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. (UAE’s Sultan Al Neyadi ‘ready for space mission’).
Sultan will be accompanied by NASA mission commander Stephen Bowen, pilot Warren Hoberg, and Russia’s Andrey Fed Yaev. Neyadi, who will be aboard the International Space Station for six months, will also be part of several experiments as part of the UAE Astronaut Program.

Sultan Al Niadi is leaving for the mission after completing more than five years of training. In 2019, the UAE sent a man into space for the first time. Hassa Al Mansoori spent 8 days in the space center and returned successfully in the first mission that took place that day.
The UAE holds the title of the Arab world’s first successful launch of a Mars mission. And Rashid Rover, the Arab world’s first lunar mission, continues its successful journey. The UAE is also set to land the first long-duration space mission in the Arab world.
