Uber has presented its new design, with new features that will make the app more intuitive and easy to use. In addition, it has unveiled its new Guest Rides service, with which it will make it possible to book trips for other people without the need for them to be registered on the platform.
Just press ‘Where are we going?’ and then choose who’s riding at the top of the screen. Then, select the guest passenger directly from the phone book.
Once the user requests the trip for his guest, he will receive an SMS with the details, the name of the driver, the estimated time of arrival, the license plate, the make and the model of the vehicle. You can also contact the driver through text messages or anonymous phone calls, without the need to have the Uber app installed on your phone or the intermediary of the user requesting the trip.
To ensure that the guest traveler boards the correct vehicle safely, a PIN check will be triggered if the location of the guest and driver are too far from each other.
“This new functionality promotes the safe use of Uber, facilitating access to transportation, even if the app is not installed on the phone. We hope it will be especially useful for older people who need to travel and who can now do so at the invitation of a relative who, in addition, will be able to supervise the trip to make sure that everything is going correctly”, commented the general director of Uber in Spain and Portugal. , Felipe Fernandez Aramburu.
Regarding the new design, the Uber application will now have the ‘Services’ and ‘Activity’ tabs. Within them, customers will be able to see all the transport and delivery offers that are available to them, as well as keep track of all the trips made or their food orders at home, in one place.
The platform’s new interface allows the user to more easily view their frequent destinations or favorite mobility services. Once the user clicks on ‘Where to?’ On the home screen, your ‘Saved Places’ will appear and the app will suggest a list of destinations and custom trip types based on your preferences, previous trips and most likely destinations.
