Dollar Tree products are now available for delivery nationwide through Uber Eats, following a partnership announced Thursday, Aug. 28. This collaboration allows customers to order from nearly 9,000 Dollar Tree locations and have their purchases brought directly to their homes.

Dollar Tree Joins Uber Eats for Nationwide Delivery

Can you get Dollar Tree items delivered? Yes, you can now get your Dollar Tree favorites delivered thanks to a new partnership with Uber Eats.

Brent Beebe, senior vice president of retail merchandising and marketing at Dollar Tree, stated in a news release that the integration brings the retailer’s value and everyday essentials, along with unique finds, to customers with the convenience of same-day delivery.

“We’re making it easier than ever for our shoppers to access the fun, affordable finds they love, right when and where they need them,” Beebe added.

This move is a significant part of Uber’s strategy to expand its retail offerings into suburban and rural areas across the U.S., introducing Dollar Tree’s expansive store presence to customers in novel ways.

Promotional Offer for New Customers

To celebrate the launch, Uber Eats is offering a $10 discount on orders totaling $30 or more. Customers can redeem this offer by using the code DOLLAR10. To locate Dollar Tree within the app, users can search for the retailer under the “grocery,” “retail,” or “convenience” categories.

Economic Trends Fueling Dollar Store Popularity

The timing of this partnership aligns with a broader trend where higher-income consumers are increasingly turning to dollar stores in search of bargains. This behavior is particularly noticeable in the current economic climate, often referred to as a paycheck-to-paycheck economy.

While major retailers like Walmart and Target continue to be popular choices for consumers earning over $100,000 annually, data indicates a growing segment of higher-income households are also shopping at discount chains such as Dollar General and Dollar Tree.

Research from the quarter ending in May revealed that 24% of transactions at Dollar Tree were made by shoppers with incomes exceeding $100,000. A similar percentage, 24%, of Dollar General’s transactions during the same period came from this higher-income demographic.

Although these figures are lower than the mid-40% range seen among consumers earning $50,000 or less, they represent a notable portion of these retailers’ customer base and revenue.

This shift in consumer behavior may persist, as nearly half of consumers earning more than $100,000 annually report living paycheck to paycheck. Even those earning over $200,000 are not immune to these financial pressures, according to research.

These findings suggest that recreation, personal care, and everyday expenses account for approximately 28% of the budget for these higher-income households.
