Users can send up to five prepaid and sealed packages to a nearby post office, UPS, or FedEx location for a flat fee.

With nearly 80% of shoppers under 30 finding mail returns somewhat or very annoying, according to a National Retail Federation poll, Uber expects its new tool to be a valuable proposition for consumers.
Wendy Lee, the director of delivery product management at Uber, stated, “We imagine that this is going to be a huge time saver and convenience play for many, many U.S. consumers.”
To use the “Return a Package” feature, users simply need to select a nearby postal carrier and confirm the pickup. Uber will then send a courier to pick up the package and drop it off at a local USPS, UPS, or FedEx location. Customers can track their package in real time through the app, and the courier will provide a visual confirmation or photo of the receipt after the drop-off.
It’s important to note that certain guidelines and restrictions apply to the “Return a Package” feature. Packages must be prepaid with a label or QR code, sealed, and ready to ship. Each package should be worth less than $100 and weigh under 30 pounds. Uber’s shipping guidelines prohibit packages with alcohol, highly perishable foods, gift cards, fragile items, and more.
