Sweet draw against Liverpool, where UD Las Palmas showed a good image
UD Las Palmas finished the preseason with a draw against Liverpool FC (0-0). The eighth friendly served to check the players’ condition, the playing system, and the debut, with his first minutes, of Scott McKenna.

UD started boldly
Las Palmas began the match strongly, establishing themselves in Liverpool’s territory. Moleiro was the first yellow player to attempt a goal, on two occasions, during the first 10 minutes.
The friendly balanced out in the following minutes, with Gakpo also enjoying a good opportunity. However, Cillessen caught the rival attacker’s shot when the clock struck the 15-minute mark.
The players of Luis Carrión once again created concern for their opponent in a set-piece play, following a corner kick. The final shot was from Alex Suárez, but goalkeeper Kelleher denied the goal by blocking the shot from the Gran Canaria player on the line. There were no dividends on the scoreboard, but the designed action was executed with precision.
Equality marked the first half, and during this period, there was again a ball hitting the crossbar of Las Palmas’ rival team. The play was forged with an advance and cross from the right by Marvin Park. Defender Robertson touched it with his head to prevent a shot, but the ball flew up to the top of the crossbar before ending in a corner.
Goalless draw
The first half ended with a goalless draw and a distribution of possession and chances for both teams. Everything remained the same for a few minutes of the second period. The UD Las Palmas goalkeeper had more work in the second period, especially after the wave of substitutions past the hour mark. The Liverpool players sought the goal, without success.
The final great chance of the match was Canary. Kirian found a lane for Benito and the local player placed a ball in the area. However, Iván Gil failed to connect the shot when he was already in front of Kelleher with 3 minutes remaining.
