As the Shiv Sena party has split into two, Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde, the Election Commission will decide today who is the real Shiv Sena, according to reports.
Shiv Sena was ruling Maharashtra in alliance with Congress and Nationalist Congress. Uddhav Thackeray was the Chief Minister. Meanwhile, last month, more than 20 Shiv Sena MLAs headed by senior minister Eknath Shinde suddenly disappeared. Later it was revealed that they were in Assam. Alleging that Uddhav Thackeray has mortgaged Hindutva principles for position and power, Eknath Shinde’s allies have raised a war flag against him.
At one point, most of the MLAs in the Shiv Sena defected to Shinde. Following this, the main opposition BJP formed an alliance with Shinde’s team. As a result, the coalition gained the power to form a ruling majority. Subsequently, Uddhav Thackeray resigned as Chief Minister. Eknath Shinde was later sworn in as the Chief Minister after winning the trust vote. BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis was elected Deputy Chief Minister.
Meanwhile, Eknath Shinde’s team, which has majority of Shiv Sena MLAs, is claiming that they are the real Shiv Sena. Shiv Sena party led by Uddhav Thackeray categorically denied this. In this context, the National Executive Committee was formed yesterday on behalf of Eknath Shinde’s team. The members of the committee elected Eknath Shinde as the primary leader of the Shiv Sena. The Shiv Sena team led by Shinde has said that since the National Working Committee has been formed, they have received recognition as a complete political party.
In this case, Shinde’s team has decided to approach the Election Commission today regarding this matter. Then it seems that they will appeal to the Election Commission to recognize them as a real Shiv Sena party. At the same time, Shiv Sena led by Uddhav Thackeray will also file a petition in the Election Commission against this. Due to this, which party is the real Shiv Sena will be decided today, according to Maharashtra political sources.
Senior Shiv Sena leader and MP Sanjay Raut said, “This is the Shiv Sena that was started by Paul Thackeray. Its leader is Uddhav Thackeray. We will prove this anywhere. There is no change in this. This is the recognized Shiv Sena party. They have many MLAs for that. “Can they say Shiv Sena is ours? They are disaffected. That’s it. Let’s not forget that the sword of disqualification still hangs over Chief Minister Shinde’s head,” he said.
