Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has resigned from his official residence following his resignation. Uddhav announced on Facebook Live at 5.30 pm that he was ready to resign and that he would resign if any dissenting MLA asked for it directly. He left the official residence a short while ago as announced. Hundreds of Shiv Sena workers showered flowers and chanted slogans to bid farewell to the Chief Minister

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut has said that Uddhav Thackeray will not resign as chief minister and will prove a majority in the assembly.

There are indications that Uddhav Thackeray has offered the post of Chief Minister to persuade Shiv Sena rebel leader Eknath Shinde. However, Eknath Shinde said that the Maha Vikas Akhadi alliance would not be compromised without ending it.

Shinde tweeted that only the Congress and the NCP benefited from the alliance and that the Shiv Sena was weakening. Meanwhile, four more MLAs reached the rebel camp in Guwahati.
