The experience accumulated over the years of partnership cooperation between Belarus and Udmurtia opens up new horizons for cooperation. The republic in the European Urals, as the old-timers usually call it, is interested in cooperation with Minsk in the field of mechanical engineering and the food industry. This was announced on Tuesday by the Deputy Prime Minister of the 1.5 million Russian region Mikhail Khomich before the start of the meeting of the working group on cooperation between the subjects of the Union State, BelTA informs.
In addition, according to him, the main trade partner of Udmurtia is of interest for its products in the field of “machine tool building, agricultural and passenger equipment, food products.”
The Russian colleagues, in turn, said the head of the Property Committee of the Republic of Bashkortostan Dmitry Matusevich, are ready to “discuss the prospects for creating joint ventures,” noting that the first batch of Belarusian buses has already been sent to Izhevsk this year, the delivery of which will be 100 units by the end of the year. Wood products are also in demand, he added.
Having noted a significant increase in trade with the “arms capital” of Russia, Matusevich drew attention to the increased interest in the Belarusian food basket in Udmurtia. In particular, export of cheese from Belarus increased sevenfold.
The agenda of the current meeting, the agency explains, also includes the creation of a joint integrated dealer and service center for representatives of MAZ – UKH BELAVTOMAZ and OJSC AMKODOR – UKH. agro-industrial complex in the Russian region, participation of Belarusian manufacturers of machinery and equipment in the implementation of programs to update the material and technical base of enterprises in Udmurtia.
The meeting of business partners, observers remind, takes place within the framework of the agreement signed at the VIII Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia between the governments of Belarus and the Udmurt Republic on trade, economic, scientific and technical, environmental, humanitarian and cultural cooperation.
