UEFA has appointed the 37-year-old Swiss referee from the top tier of the European Federation to officiate the first match of our national team in the new Nations League, against the Scandinavians (07/09, 21:45) in the “era” of Ivan Jovanovic on the sidelines.
Urs Schneider is UEFA’s “chosen one” to “whistle” the match of the “blue and white” against Finland this coming Saturday (07/09, 21:45) in the return of our national team to “Georgios Karaiskakis”, after several years.
The Swiss referee had previously officiated our national team in a friendly against Honduras (2-1) three years ago.
Schneider’s assistants are his compatriots Marco Tsurcher and Benjamin Tsurcher, the fourth official is Sven Wolfensberger, and in VAR will be Lukas Fedrich and Mirel Turkes, also from Switzerland.//P.
