Uíge: Students get two new IT rooms

News from Angola – The province of Uíge will have, this academic year (2023-2024), two more computer rooms, to minimize the shortage registered by students who attend courses aimed at this area of ​​knowledgein a partnership between Paratus Angola and the Ministry of Education.

The information was provided to Notícias de Angola on Tuesday by the director general of Paratus Angola, Francisco Pinto Leite, during the presentation of the 10th edition of the Solidarity Golf tournament, having stated that the new citizenship and social impact project will favor the sector of education.

The project, which aims to install two computer rooms for students, in Uíge province, will also develop frequent training for students who have just left university and who need practical technical training to enter the job market.

Speaking to the press, the Minister of Education, Luísa Grilo, emphasized that initiatives of this kind are of great importance, as they cover such a vital area of ​​our country.

For his part, Francisco Leite said that the creation of computer rooms is urgent and fundamental for the academic growth of technological areas across the country”.

To this end, according to the official, the multinational’s support to the education sector, in Luanda and in other provinces, aims at training young people to develop their skills as productive members and precursors of development across the country.

In addition to Luanda and Uíge, Namibe and Huila are the provinces also covered by the project. In the southernmost region of Angola, whose capital is Moçâmedes, Patatus managed, through similar initiatives, to donate two computer rooms to the primary school “Complexo Escolar nº 12”, while in Huíla, the beneficiary was the primary school “Pioneer Zeca”.

The official opening ceremony of the 2023-2024 academic year takes place on the 1st of September, in the province of Malange, and the school year starts on the 4th of that month, across the country, with the forecast for the insertion of around 950,000 new students to the education system.
