Uijeongbu City, Selection of Best Practices for Active Administration and Excellent Civil Servants in the First Half of 2024

Uijeongbu City (Mayor Dong-Geun Kim) held the 3rd Active Administration Committee of 2024 in the city hall situation room on July 26 and selected the ‘2024 First Half Active Administration Best Practices and Excellent Civil Servants.’

The city received a total of 25 cases of excellent proactive administration, held practical meetings, and selected 10 candidates for excellent civil servants. Afterwards, through a review by the Active Administration Committee, the city selected 1 top candidate, 2 excellent candidates, and 2 encouragement candidates based on comprehensive considerations of effectiveness, proactiveness, importance, and potential for expansion.

▶ Encouragement: Team Leader Jong-Hwan Park (Former Parking Management Department/Current Construction Department)

‘Resolve parking difficulties and illegal parking complaints by installing light vehicle-only parking spaces using remaining spaces in on-street (residential) parking lots!’

‘Establishment of a regional hydrogen fuel cell power plant and improvement of energy welfare’

Oh Hyeon-jeong, a senior officer in the Road Management Division who was selected as the best active public servant, conducted an internal comprehensive survey of 22,828 road lighting facilities. She derived electricity usage and contracted power by checking the operation status, location, and maintenance history for the past 7 years to update the facilities. Based on this, she promoted reduction of contracted power and update of electricity usage to reduce the electricity bill budget, and the budget savings through this are expected to be 233,856 thousand won per year.

The selected outstanding civil servants with proactive administrative skills will be awarded a plaque, additional personnel points, and the highest level of performance bonus, and the selected excellent cases will be promoted nationwide through media reports and card news.

Deputy Mayor Park Seong-nam said, “Civil servants’ creative and proactive efforts have brought about changes that citizens can feel. We will work harder to establish a public service culture in which civil servants who practice proactive administration are given preferential treatment.”
