jpnn.comJAKARTA – Executive Director of the Indonesian Political Review, Ujang Komarudin, said that Anies Baswedan’s failure to become a contestant in the 2024 regional elections could be caused by internal factors in the PDI Perjuangan or external factors of the red-colored political party.

“There are many factors related to Anies’ failure, yes, there are internal and external factors,” said Ujang to the media crew, Friday (30/8).

The political observer from Al Azhar University continued that from an internal perspective, PDI Perjuangan certainly wants to nominate cadres in the 2024 simultaneous regional elections.

Moreover, said Ujang, PDI Perjuangan has created institutional cadre formation to promote the best figures in the party.

“That is common practice for political parties, including the PDI Perjuangan,” he said.

However, Ujang did not deny that Anies’ failure to run in the 2024 regional elections was influenced by the intervention of Mulyono, as mentioned by PDI Perjuangan politician Ono Surono.

“Only Mr. Ono Surono knows who Mulyono is, even though the public already knows where Mulyono is headed, yes. There could be pressure, intimidation, or intervention so that Anies cannot be a candidate,” said the man born in West Java.

Ujang said that negative impacts could be felt by Anies if he does not run in the 2024 regional elections, especially the efforts of the former Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture to participate in the 2029 Indonesian Presidential Election.

The Executive Director of the Indonesian Political Review said that Anies Baswedan’s failure to become a contestant in the 2024 regional elections could be due to these factors.
