Ujjain: The case of rape of a woman in the district was not yet settled when a case of assault on a saint came to light. The saint alleges that the miscreants in Nagda city have stripped him and beaten him. They even removed his loincloth. After the incident, the victim saint has registered a case at Nagda police station. The police is searching for the miscreants.
It is being told that Mahant Gopaldas, a resident of Guna district, came to Ujjain on 5 September. He has lodged an FIR on 6 September. The victim Saint Gopaldas has told that I keep visiting Tyagi Maharaj’s ashram (Nagda). On 5 September, when I returned after visiting Dwarkadhish, I thought that I should visit Tyagi Maharaj. I got off the train at Nagda station. I left for the ashram on foot, then at 5 pm I met two people in the forest of BCI Colony. Both were drunk. They asked me to recite Gayatri Mantra, tell me your father’s name. I told them that I am not such an educated Mahatma. On this, the miscreants started threatening me and demanded money. They said that if I do not give money, they will kill me. While beating me, they removed my loincloth. People passing by on the road were watching. Both of them also threatened me while leaving. After this, I went to the ashram and told the whole hour to Tyagi Maharaj. It has been found out about the accused that one name is Laxman Shekhawat who is the cousin of senior BJP leader and former minister Sultan Singh Shekhawat. The other is Vicky Shukla. Police have registered a case against both of them.

Congress leader Arun Yadav has targeted BJP on this issue. He shared the video of the saint on social site ‘X’ and wrote that the anti-Sanatan face of BJP has been exposed once again. Now even saints are not safe in the rule of BJP, BJP leader and brother of former cabinet minister Sultan Singh Shekhawat, Laxman Shekhawat and Vicky Shukla stripped Sadhu Gopal Das Ji naked by removing his loincloth in Nagda of Ujjain district and then beat him up and threatened to kill him. The accused is still out of police custody.
