London: This time the election in Britain was very special for Indians. This time 29 people of Indian origin have become MPs. Out of these, the Labour Party has the highest number of members, which is 19. Out of these, 12 have become MPs for the first time. A record 12 MPs have been elected from the Sikh community including 6 women. All the members of the Sikh community are from the Labour Party. 9 members have been elected for the first time, two have become MP for the third consecutive time and one for the second time. British Sikh MP Preet Kaur Gill defeated Conservative Party candidate Ashvir Sangha. Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi became MP for the third consecutive time. Labor Party

• Preet Kaur Gill: She retained the Birmingham Edgbaston seat. She was born in Birmingham. Both parents were Indian. Her father was the president of Britain’s first gurdwara, Guru Nanak Gurdwara, Smethwick.
• Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi became MP for the third time. He retained his seat of Birmingham Edgbaston and Slough.
• Seema Malhotra retained the Feltham and Heston seat.
• Goa-born Valerie Vaz won the Walsall and Bloxwich seat.
• Lisa Nandy retained her dominance in the Wigan seat.
• Navendu Mishra retained the Stockport seat.
• Nadia Whittome won the Nottingham East seat.

New members of the Labor Party

• Baggi Shankar : Baggy Shankar, a Sikh, won the Derby South seat. The Labour Party has dominated this seat since its formation. Baggy was born in the UK, while his father came to the UK in the 1950s and worked in a foundry. He works for Rolls-Royce. He is also a Labour councillor and was the Labour leader on Derby City Council until 18 June. He was removed by opposition councillors through a no-confidence motion.
• Gurinder Singh Josan: Gurinder Singh won the safe seat of Smethwick. He is 51 years old. He used to be a trustee of Guru Nanak Gurdwara, Smethwick.
• Harpreet Uppal : Harpreet Uppal has become MP from Huddersfield. She is the first woman MP from this constituency. She was born in the UK. Her father Lambar Singh Uppal came to Britain in 1962. Here he worked as a textile worker.
• Jas Athwal: 60-year-old Jas Athwal won the election from Ilford South. This is a safe seat for the Labour Party. Athwal was born in a Jat Sikh family in Punjab. He lived here until his family moved to Ilford. He came to the UK when he was 7 years old.
• Dr. Jeevun Sandher: 33-year-old Jeevun has won the Loughborough seat. He has made a dent in the Conservative Party’s seat. He was born in Britain and his family hails from near Jalandhar in Punjab. He is an economist.
• Kanishka Narayan: 34-year-old Kanishka Narayan has won the Vale of Glamorgan seat. He has become the first minority MP here. He was born in Bihar. He moved to Wales at the age of 12. He has studied at Oxford and Stanford. He was a senior advisor in the Cabinet Office and an expert advisor to the Environment Secretary.
• Kirith Entwistle: He has snatched the Bolton North East seat from the Conservative Party for the Labour Party. Kirith Entwistle is a British Punjabi who was born in Southall. His maternal grandparents migrated to Britain from Kenya in the 1970s. His father migrated to Britain from Delhi in the 1980s.
• Satveer Kaur: British Sikh, Satvir Kaur won the Southampton Test seat. She is a councillor on Southampton City Council and a former Labour leader.
• Varinder Juice: Varinder Juice helped Labour wrest the Wolverhampton West seat from the Conservative Party.
• Sojan Joseh: Sojan Jose is the first member of the British Parliament who comes from Kerala. Sojan Jose (49), a resident of Kottayam, Kerala, has won the Ashford seat. He came to Britain 22 years ago as a health worker.
• Sonia Kumar: Indian Sikh Sonia Kumar has won the Labour seat of Dudley. She snatched this seat from the Conservative Party.

• Former home affairs minister Suella Braverman won in Fareham and Waterlooville.

• Former minister Claire Coutinho won the East Surrey seat.
• Gagan Mohindra retained the South West Hertfordshire seat.
• Shivani Raja won the Leicester East seat.
