Rishi Sunak has won the 4th round election for the post of British Prime Minister.

The ruling Conservative Party is holding an election to choose a new Prime Minister after Boris Johnson resigned from the post of British Prime Minister. The MPs of the party are voting in this.

In the first round, 8 people were in the competition and in the next two rounds, 4 people were eliminated. In this case, at the end of the 4th round of elections, one more person has been expelled, and Indian-origin Finance Minister Rishi Sunak, Commerce Minister Benny Mordant, and Foreign Affairs Minister Liz Truss remain.

Among the three, Rishi Sunak is at the top with 115 votes. Mordant was 2nd with 92 votes and Truss was 3rd with 86 votes. One more person will be evicted in the 5th round of elections today.

160,000 Conservatives will vote in the final round between the two remaining candidates. The person who gets the most votes will be announced as the new Prime Minister on September 5.

There are also speculations about the race for the new Prime Minister’s post. It has been reported that Liz Truss has a small lead compared to Rishi Sunak.
