UK seeks modern, mutually beneficial partnership with Morocco: UK official

Rabat – The British government’s Envoy for the UK-Africa Investment Summit 2024 (UK-AIS), Alastair McPhail, stressed on Wednesday in Rabat that the United Kingdom aspires to “build a modern and mutually beneficial partnership with the Kingdom of Morocco”.

“We look forward to building a modern and mutually beneficial partnership based on respect with Morocco and other countries,” McPhail told reporters after talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad Nasser Bourita ahead of the UK-Africa Investment Summit, scheduled for April 23-24 in London.

The British official also said that “we look forward to a very successful summit for us and for Morocco.”

UK-AIS 2024 will bring together political and business leaders from the UK and African countries, as well as representatives from international and regional organisations, building on the outcomes of the 2020 summit and virtual conferences in 2021 and 2022.
