The UK is about to launch its first bus self-driving, without a driver, in Scotland.

This service promises to carry around 10,000 passengers a week on a 22.5 km route.

The buses will have a “safety driver” behind the wheel to monitor the technology, as required by British law.

Equipped with sensors and radars, the autonomous buses rely on an artificial intelligence system to determine their location and calculate the safest route.

This new system aims to increase transport safety by allowing a 360-degree view and faster response compared to a human driver.

Other countries, such as South Korea, Spain and Singapore, have also carried out tests and implementations of autonomous buses.
