The space agencies of Ukraine and Canada signed a partnership statement and laid the “first stone” of a launch complex in Nova Scotia, the Ukrainian embassy in Canada said on its Facebook page.
The launch spaceport, the project of which is being implemented by the Canadian company Maritime Launch Services, will use the Ukrainian launch vehicle Cyclone 4M, the publication says. The command center of the launch pad will be named in honor of the ex-head of the Yug design bureau, Alexander Degtyarev, wrote the head of the Ukrainian space agency, Volodymyr Taftay, on his Facebook page.
The project will create the preconditions for long-term cooperation between the countries, as well as load the production capacities of Ukrainian enterprises, the embassy said.
