Justin Trudeau, Joe Biden and many European leaders said they were worried about the pro-Russian military forces present on the borders of Ukraine on Friday.

“Leaders have raised concerns about actions by Russian-backed separatists in the Donbass region in violation of the ceasefire,” the government said in a statement.
The Prime Minister spoke with US President Joe Biden and the leaders of the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Romania, the European Commission, of the European Council and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) regarding the presence of Russian military forces on the borders of Ukraine.
They stressed that “any further military incursion into Ukraine would entail great costs and serious consequences, including the concerted imposition of sanctions.”
Justin Trudeau asserted the strength and unity of the NATO Alliance and heads of state agreed to continue to coordinate their efforts.
On Thursday, Canada chose to relocate its diplomatic staff to Lviv, a city near the border with Poland, in the face of rising tensions.
For his part, Joe Biden said he was “convinced” that Russian President Vladimir Putin had “made the decision” to invade Ukraine, adding however that it was “not too late” for diplomacy.
