The Ukrainian army launched during the last 24 hours 15 air strikes on concentrations of Russian troops in the territories they Russia occupies in Ukraineas reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its military part on Monday.
“During the day of June 4, the Ukrainian Air Force launched 15 air strikes on enemy concentrations,” reads the report, which includes daily efforts by Ukraine to hit infrastructures, positions and accumulations of Russian troops behind the front line.
The General Staff also refers to the interception of six Russian reconnaissance drones. In addition, the Ukrainian forces hit with missiles and artillery three command posts, two concentrations of weapons and military equipment, four ammunition depots, two anti-aircraft missile systems and four Russian electronic control stations.
Ukraine works to hit Russian supply lines and logistics before launching its long-awaited counteroffensive by land to recapture more territories occupied by Russia.
For its part, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated on Monday that his forces had repulsed a major Ukrainian offensive in five sectors of the Donetsk front during the last dayin eastern Ukraine.
“On the morning of June 4, the enemy launched a large-scale offensive on five sectors of the southern Donetsk front,” Defense said in a statement posted on Telegram. Six mechanized battalions and two tank battalions participated in the assault, adds the official note.
“The enemy’s objective was to break through our defensive lines at the most vulnerable part of the front, according to his judgment,” the message states.
Defense assures that the Ukrainian forces “did not achieve their purpose” and lost in the attempt more than 250 men and 16 tanks, in addition to other armored vehicles.
