The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry claims that Russia violated the ceasefire and began firing on the humanitarian corridors.
As you may recall, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced today that it had opened humanitarian corridors from Kiev, Kharkiv and Mariupol, when army forces were transferred to a “quiet state”. Now the Ukrainians announce that this is a lie.
“Ceasefire violated! Russian forces fire on humanitarian corridors between Zaporizhia and Mariupol,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement. “8 trucks and 30 buses are ready to deliver humanitarian aid to Mariupol and evacuate citizens from the region. The pressure on Ukraine must be increased in order for them to meet their commitments.”

Recall, earlier in Ukraine claimed that the humanitarian corridors are an exercise on the part of the Russians – because their route leads the Ukrainian residents to Russia and Belarus. It was also later reported that the evacuation route from Mariupol was trapped in mines.
The Ukrainian government argued that “Ukrainian citizens should have the right to evacuate to other areas of their country. The Russian position is completely immoral, and exploits the suffering of the people of their country.” Russia has said the move comes at the request of French President Emmanuel Macron, but has denied the allegations in Paris – and in Kiev said they “hope Macron understands that in practice Russia is using his name and his sincere intention to help produce manipulations.”
Earlier today, Ukrainian President Zalansky partially blamed the West for the events: “Western countries have not yet saved our cities from Russian missiles and bombings, even though they could. I urge everyone: do not stay aside. If the world continues to stand aside, it will lose itself forever. “.
“There are unconditional values, which are the same for everyone – and life precedes everyone. That is exactly why we are now fighting in Ukraine. These are exactly the values that these weak occupiers want to deprive us of. The world must protect that.”
