Ukraine seeks membership in the European Union; Application submitted
Kyiv: Ukraine has applied for membership of the European Union. Ukraine is urging immediate inclusion in the European Union. The petition was signed by Ukrainian President Vladimir Selensky.
“We urge the European Union (EU) to recognize Ukraine immediately under a new procedure,” Selensky said in its latest video message. “We thank our partners for standing by us, but our goal is to be equal to all Europeans. I’m sure we deserve it. I’m sure it’s possible,” Selensky said.

Selensky said on Sunday he had spoken with the presidents of Portugal, Lithuania, France and Poland, as well as the prime ministers of Belgium, Spain and the United Kingdom. “The support of our anti-war alliance is unconditional and unprecedented,” Selensky said.
