Ukraine has appointed a new foreign minister

People’s deputy from the “Holos” (“Voice”) parliamentary faction, Yaroslav Železniak, reported this on the Telegram channel, which Ukrinform refers to.

According to him, 258 people’s deputies voted for the appointment of A. Sybiha.

As previously reported, A. Sybiha worked as Ukraine’s ambassador to Turkey from 2016 to 2021.

In May 2021, he was appointed Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine. A. Sybiha dealt with issues of foreign policy and strategic partnership development.

In April 2024, by the decision of the Government, he became the first deputy minister of foreign affairs.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, on the morning of September 4, the Verkhovna Rada received the resignation request of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba.

On the same day, the Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation Committee of the Verkhovna Rada approved the resignation request of the Minister of Foreign Affairs D. Kuleba,

September 5 people’s deputies approved D. Kuleba’s resignation from his position.
