Ukraine has received four lakh covid vaccines: UNICEF

UNICEF has announced that four lakh doses of Covid vaccine have been given to Ukraine in recent days.

As part of the Kovacs project, four million Pfizer Bion Tech vaccines have been delivered to Ukraine in recent days, the United Nations Children’s Fund UNICEF said. This is in addition to the one lakh vaccine given by UNICEF on August 4.

Before this, on July 23, UNICEF had delivered five lakh doses of Covid vaccine to Ukraine.

About 36,000 Covid cases were reported in Ukraine in the last two weeks alone. Currently available vaccine doses will be distributed in 23 regions of Ukraine and the city of Kyiv.

UNICEF’s representative in Ukraine, Murat Sahin, said that a vaccine against the Covid-19 pandemic is a priority in Ukraine’s humanitarian emergency, and that protecting the health and well-being of children and their parents is one of UNICEF’s main goals.

Ukraine’s deputy minister of health and head of the main health department, Ihor Kuzin, said that with international partners, the distribution of vaccines against Covid-19 in Ukraine continues, and as the winter season approaches, efforts to protect against the coronavirus are important.
