US TV NBC: American and European officials have begun quietly discussing possible peace negotiations with Russia with the Ukrainian government.
Officials said they discussed in general terms what Ukraine would have to give up to reach a deal. Some of the negotiations took place last month.
Biden administration officials also fear that Ukraine is running out of forces while Russia has endless ones.
Kiev is also experiencing difficulties with military conscription, and the public has recently protested against some of President Vladimir Zelensky’s calls for indefinite conscription.
Women at war
Sources within the Ukrainian presidential office confirm that the General Staff is asking Zelensky to increase the list of female professions to be mobilized, in order to redirect male professions to the front line.
In winter, a new bill is expected in Parliament, which will expand the list of female professions to be mobilized, as well as making travel abroad for professions needed by the General Staff more stringent.
Lowering the conscription age from 27 to 25 cannot quickly compensate for the losses suffered by the Ukrainian army. For this reason the headquarters asked to mobilize young people in their 20s to be able to prepare 200,000 reservists for the winter campaign.
