One of the decrees introduces restrictions for five years against 100 individuals and 37 legal entities. Sanctions were introduced in relation to the Belarusian pro-government activist and founder of the charitable foundation Alyaksei Talai.

Maria Lvova-Bialova, the Commissioner for Children’s Rights under the President of the Russian Federation, and the non-profit organization “Kvartal Lui” founded by her were included in the list. “RBK-Ukraine” assumes that the second decree includes persons probably involved in the deportation of Ukrainian children.

According to the decrees, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is instructed to inform the competent authorities of the European Union, the United States and other countries about the application of sanctions and “to ask them about the introduction of similar restrictive measures.”

According to Ukrainian ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets, more than 16,000 children were deported from Ukraine to Russia during the war. The International Criminal Court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin and Lvova-Bialova for the illegal deportation of children from the occupied territories of Ukraine to the Russian Federation.

Belarus helps Russia in the deportation of Ukrainian children. On the instructions of Alyaksandr Lukashenka, children are being taken through the Russian Federation to Belarus allegedly for “rehabilitation”. The organization of their placement in Belarusian camps is handled by the Talaya Foundation. In addition, the Belarusian Red Cross Society helps the Lukashenka regime take Ukrainian children to Belarus.
