Ukrainian officials have taken note of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s proposal for a ceasefire, but believe it is impossible without taking into account other aspects of the settlement.
As reported by Day.Az with reference to Gazeta.ru, this was announced by the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Igor Zhovkva on the air of the Ukrainian telethon.
“President [Украины Владимир Зеленский] listened to the interlocutor [Виктора Орбана]however, in response he stated his position. Ukraine’s position is quite clear, understandable and well-known. <...> the thing is that such processes [прекращение огня] “cannot be considered in isolation,” Zhovkva said.
He stressed that Ukraine plans to seek a settlement through “peace summits” initiated by Kiev.
Before that, Zelensky said that he had discussed the most fundamental issues of bilateral relations with his Hungarian counterpart. He specified that the conversation was about the development of cross-border cooperation between Kyiv and Budapest. The parties also discussed the interaction of Ukraine and Hungary in the energy and trade spheres.
