Title: Ukraine Releases Footage of Successful HIMARS Strike on Russian Units Deployed to Sandbank

Date: [Date]

Ukraine has shared a video showcasing a successful HIMARS strike on Russian units deployed to a sandbank, causing significant casualties. The footage, released by the country’s National Resistance Center, demonstrates soldiers involved in various activities before being targeted.

The video, uploaded to Facebook, unveils Ukrainian troops stretching and exercising on Dzharylhach Island, reportedly used as a training ground. Subsequently, the Himars munition is seen hitting a cluster of trees where the soldiers had gathered, with several trucks also visible in the vicinity.

According to local sources, Ukraine received critical information that aided the precision attack. This led to the destruction of dozens of troops and Russian equipment, as claimed by the National Resistance Center.

Reports suggest that the attack occurred on Dzharylhach Island, situated 26 miles in the Black Sea under Russian occupation. The Russian camps on the island were approximately 50 miles away from the contact line.

While it remains unclear how many casualties were incurred, EuroMaidan Press reported that 200 Russian soldiers were “lost” in the strike. The Institute for Study of War had previously noted that Russian forces established training grounds on Dzharylhach Island, with units withdrawn from the frontlines in Kherson being sent there for recovery.

This recent HIMARS strike video release follows previous reports in mid-July, where both a Ukrainian official and a Russian military blogger claimed that a Russian unit had been targeted by HIMARS after being instructed to wait stationary for two hours.

HIMARS, long-range precision rocket launchers provided to Ukraine by Washington, proved to be effective in this strike. Their maximum range reaches approximately 50 miles.

As of this moment, neither the National Resistance Center nor Russia’s Defense Ministry have responded to media requests for comment.
