Soumy (Ukraine).— Thursday 15 August at the end of the day, Antonina and Viktor are busy on their little plot. Potatoes, zucchini, beans, a few stalks of corn… Plenty to eat in the summer and stock up for the winter. The two septuagenarians are in the habit of not going out alone any more: living about fifteen kilometers from the border with Russia, at the eastern end of the Sumy region, they know that the danger is there.
