But the Russian invasion is also making waves in the politics of the Islamic Republic. Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, who took refuge in snap elections over the weekend in the face of a parliamentary no-confidence vote, sees foreign forces at work, including the US, who want to see him removed from office. The reason for this “blatant interference in domestic politics” is his independent foreign policy.
