On the night of August 3, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the Morozovsk airfield in the Rostov region of the Russian Federation. As a result of the attack, a strong fire began, which was only extinguished around 10 a.m. About 70% of the airfield’s capacity was destroyed, and Su-24 and Su-34 aircraft were damaged.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this.
Damage to the airfield near Rostov
As a result of the attack, a strike was recorded on an ammunition depot, where guided air bombs were also stored. In addition, social networks also reported the destruction of air defense systems installed near the airfield and Russian aircraft. However, this information needs to be confirmed.
It should be noted that this is not the first such attack – in July, the airfield was also attacked, explosions were heard in the city. In June, after another attack, all fighters were temporarily removed from the runway.
Attacks on oil depots
Also on the night of August 3, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked a number of oil depots and warehouses with ammunition and fuel and lubricants in the Belgorod, Kursk and Rostov regions. There is information about the hit and subsequent ignition of at least two tanks with oil products.
Videos published online show a column of black smoke several kilometers from the site of the fire.
Earlier we reported that on the night of August 3, the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out another drone attack on Russian territory.
