“Ukrainian News”: the court agreed to the arrest of Poroshenko

The Pechersk District Court of Kiev allowed the arrest of the ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, who is accused of treason and aiding terrorism. This was reported by the agency “Ukrainian News” with reference to sources.

“The Pechersk District Court has given its consent to the arrest of Petro Poroshenko. The decision was made this morning in the framework of the investigation of the case on suspicion of high treason being investigated by the State Bureau of Investigation, ”the agency reports (the site is blocked in Russia, quoted by TASS).

Earlier it became known that Mr. Poroshenko, who is now in Europe, did not come for interrogation on the high treason case at the Bureau of Investigation on December 23. The case is connected with the supply of coal from Donbass. According to the investigation, the ex-president created a criminal group and disrupted supplies of coal from South Africa contracted in the fall of 2014. The person involved in the case is also the head of the political council of the Opposition Platform – For Life party Viktor Medvedchuk.
