Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky escaped “without serious injuries” from a car accident in Kiev. According to the president’s press secretary, “a car collided with the car of the president of Ukraine and escort vehicles”
“No serious injuries”: medics treated President Zelensky, who had a car accident tonight, and provided medical assistance to the driver of the car that entered the president’s motorcade and transported him to the hospital.
“The president was examined by a doctor, no serious injuries were found,” said his spokesman Sakhi Nikiforov in a Facebook post tonight. Minutes after Nikiforov’s statement, Zelensky’s office released the video of the nightly speech the president gives every day on the situation in the war.
Earlier on Wednesday, Zelensky visited the city of Isium, where the Ukrainians surprised the Russian soldiers and made them retreat.
Zelensky said his troops had recaptured thousands of square kilometers and thanked them for their efforts. With his hand on his heart, Mr. Zelensky watched his country’s flag fly over the liberated city of Isium and sang the national anthem.
“Our blue-yellow flag is already flying in the abandoned Isium. And it will be like that in every city and village in Ukraine,” he said on social networks during the visit. “We are only moving in one direction – forward and towards victory.”
