Russia is targeting investors from “unfriendly” countries

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin is signing a law allowing investors from “unfriendly” countries to be banned from holding stakes in major Russian companies and banks, the RIA agency reports. The government will draw up a list of Russian companies to be covered by the law. These include all systemically important banks and companies that have a certain size, for example in terms of sales, number of employees or assets.

Putin also signed a law introducing a tax on excessive corporate profits. The levy is not levied on oil, gas, coal, small and medium-sized companies.
