Uljin-gun will host the 33rd National Conference of Korean Forestry Successors. Uljin-gun (Governor Son Byeong-bok) will host the 33rd National Conference of Korean Forestry Successors at Wangpicheon Park for three days from the 5th to the 7th.

This competition, held under the theme of ‘Forestry with income, forestry with jobs, forestry that revitalizes the region,’ is hosted by the Gyeongbuk Provincial Chapter of the Korea Forestry Successors Association and will include academic seminars, invited lectures, and experience/exhibition programs.

This event, in which over 10,000 forestry successors and their families from all over the country will participate, is expected to be a place of harmony where they can present a vision for forests and share various information related to forestry.

On September 5th, the first day of the National Forestry Successors Convention, ▲ academic seminars (pine mushroom production distribution and income increase measures, customized garden industry strategies for foresters) ▲ lecture by comedian Kim Byeong-jo ▲ welcome night (Forestry Successors Festa), etc., forestry successors from all over the country will gather in one place to exchange advanced forestry information and have a time of harmony.

On the second day, September 6th, there will be a series of events that will bring together harmony, including ▲the opening ceremony ▲a cooking contest of 9 provinces’ forest products ▲academic seminars (plans to activate the forestry direct payment system, plans to create and operate an efficient forest management experience ring) ▲a forestry family singing contest with Uljin, and the event will end with the closing ceremony on the 7th.

In addition, various forest products will be exhibited and sold, and a consultation center will be operated for those interested in forests and mountain villages, such as the forest income support project and eco-friendly certification.

Uljin County is making thorough preparations in advance to ensure that forestry successors and their families can participate in the competition safely and comfortably.

Uljin County Governor Son Byeong-bok said, “Although foresters in Uljin County suffered a lot of damage from the large-scale forest fires in 2022, they did not give up and are continuing their efforts to get back on their feet through the ‘Forest Transformation Project.’” He added, “I hope that the exchanges made through this competition will help establish a vision for Uljin’s forestry industry.” He also said, “I will do my best until the end so that this competition, which can be enjoyed by forestry successors across the country and Uljin residents, can be successfully concluded.”
