(ANSA) – LONDON, JULY 26 – The suspicions advanced in recent hours by French investigative circles about a hypothetical lead of ultra-ecologists behind the railway sabotage unleashed on the opening day of the Paris Olympics come a few days after the proclamation with which the radical group Just Stop Oil announced “the beginning of a global revolt” against transport and pollution.
The slogan was contained in a video released in the United Kingdom after an attempted raid (which resulted in 9 arrests) at London’s Heathrow airport, Europe’s leader in air traffic. And in parallel with an initiative conducted at the same time by German activists at Cologne-Bonn airport, attributed in the same video to the sister organization Last Generation.
The announcement was immediately followed by a successful raid on Frankfurt Airport in Germany, which was blocked for a few hours yesterday, but also by raids in the US and Canada against road and air traffic.
Just Stop Oil is a campaign that calls for a total ban on hydrocarbons, while Last Generation denounces all forms of pollution indicated as contributing causes of climate change.
Both acronyms claim disobedience to the laws as a necessity, to shake the world and denounce governments and companies in the face of the “climate emergency” and the risks to the planet. (ANSA).
