The ultra-Orthodox website “Be Haderi Haredim” has caused a stir on the Internet with an uncommon cartoon featuring a pig holding money. The cartoon titled “A demonstration, no matter what” depicts the Chairman of the opposition, Yair Lapid, as a pig. In response to the publication, Lapid took to Twitter and expressed his disappointment, stating that the cartoon is similar to the historical anti-Semitic propaganda that depicted Jews as pigs. He further added that he feels ashamed for them, and wished everyone a happy holiday. Lapid also noted that the demonstration is essential as it seeks to uphold the soul of the State of Israel.

Lapid himself responded to the publication and wrote on his Twitter account: “I received a gift for the holiday. ‘In the ultra-Orthodox rooms’ they published a cartoon of me as a pig holding money. That’s how anti-Semites have depicted the Jews throughout the generations, and I’m trying to think what would happen if they published pictures of the ultra-Orthodox leaders as pigs, all that is interesting Those are money. Imagine the cries, the coming closer.”

Lapid added: “I look at this sad cartoon and feel ashamed for them. I wish a happy holiday to all the people of Israel. By the way, it is important what the demonstration is about. It is about the soul of the State of Israel. No less,” writes Lapid.
