Ultraviolette Automotive Launches X-47 Crossover: A New Era of Motorcycle Safety

Bengaluru-based Ultraviolette Automotive has unveiled its most enterprising project to date – the X-47 crossover – poised to redefine motorcycle safety standards as the world’s first commercially available motorcycle featuring an integrated radar adn camera safety system as standard. Bookings are now open for the electric crossover,with an introductory price of Rs 2.49 lakh (ex-showroom),and deliveries in India are slated to begin in October 2025,followed by a global rollout in 2026.

pioneering Safety with UV HyperSense

The centerpiece of the X-47 Crossover is Ultraviolette’s proprietary UV HyperSense system. This innovative technology seamlessly integrates a 6th-generation long-range radar with the vehicle’s control unit, marking a significant leap forward in motorcycle safety features. the resulting Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS) provides riders with crucial assistance, including blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning, and emergency braking. A dual-camera dashcam further enhances safety and provides ride recording capabilities.

Performance and Range

Powering the X-47 Crossover is a 10.3kWh battery pack coupled with Ultraviolette’s advanced vehicle platform. This combination delivers an impressive 40.2bhp (30kW) and 610Nm of torque at the rear wheel, enabling acceleration from 0 to 60 kmph in just 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 145 kmph. The motorcycle boasts an IDC-certified range of 323km, positioning it among the leaders in long-range electric motorcycles currently available globally.

Chassis and Braking

The chassis features 41mm USD forks and a preload-adjustable mono-shock. Braking performance is entrusted to Brembo units – a 320mm front disc with a four-piston caliper and a 230mm rear disc – supported by a 10th-generation Bosch switchable dual-channel ABS system and three selectable traction control modes.

Innovative Charging solutions

Ultraviolette has also engineered what they claim is the world’s most power-dense air-cooled onboard charger, compatible with standard Type 2 AC car chargers. Moreover, the company has introduced Parallel Boost Charging, an industry-first innovation that utilizes the onboard charger in conjunction with an auxiliary unit to effectively halve charging times when connected to a standard 16A socket. The X-47 also supports DC fast charging via Type 6 connectors.

Rider-Focused Features and Technology

The X-47 Crossover is equipped with a 5-inch TFT console featuring tactile switchgear and multiple ride modes – Glide, Combat, and Ballistic – allowing riders to tailor the motorcycle’s performance to varying riding conditions. The bike also introduces industry-first radial all-terrain tires, a significant 200mm ground clearance, and fighter-jet-inspired ergonomics designed for a commanding riding position.

Additional features include wireless phone charging, Type-C ports, grab handles, optional panniers (30L soft or 32L hard), hill-hold assist, dynamic regenerative braking with nine adjustable levels, and Ultraviolette’s proprietary Violette A.I. connected suite. This suite provides riders with critical alerts, including crash detection, towing notifications, movement detection, and remote lockdown capabilities.
