More than $ 600 million is to be raised in Geneva on Monday to help the people of Afghanistan. The sum is intended to prevent almost every Afghan woman from slipping below the poverty line in the coming year, as forecast by the United Nations. At the donor conference convened in Switzerland, senior UN officials, the head of the International Red Cross Committee, Peter Maurer and dozens of government representatives, are to give advice from Monday afternoon.
