“We do not want to create another government in Afghanistan, but we want to make up for the damage done to the country in recent years,” said Ramis Alakbarov, a United Nations deputy envoy.
Neighboring countries and other European nations fear that the Afghan people, who have been devastated by the post-war collapse and the Taliban’s illegitimate rule, may flee en masse.
He added that improving the economic system would help boost the country’s confidence in the years to come.
The United Nations also plans to provide $ 3.6 billion next year to pay staff at educational institutions and hospitals in Afghanistan. In addition, the organization is considering assistance to small entrepreneurs and other farmers.
