UN General Assembly: Mr. Bourita meets in New York with his Malian counterpart

United Nations (New York) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita met, Monday in New York, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Mali, Abdoulaye Diop, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The two ministers welcomed the historic depth of the ties of friendship and solidarity maintained by the two countries. They discussed ways to strengthen Moroccan-Malian cooperation to align with the aspirations of the two brother peoples and their Heads of State.

This meeting, which is part of the regular exchanges between the two parties, constituted an opportunity to address regional and international issues of common interest. The Malian Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed, on this occasion, the commitment of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to strengthen bilateral relations between Morocco and Mali.

The two ministers noted, with satisfaction, their convergence of views on the various issues raised, and insisted on the importance of strengthening coordination in the various regional and international multilateral platforms.

The Malian minister took this opportunity to affirm his country’s commitment to the operationalization of the International Initiative of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to promote access for Sahel countries to the Atlantic Ocean.
