UN member countries begin treaty negotiations against biopiracy

More than 190 UN member countries will meet this Monday (13) in Geneva, Switzerland, in an attempt to draft an international treaty that includes the fight against biopiracy – the illegal use and exploitation of natural resources and knowledge traditional. Countries like Brazil, which has great biodiversity, require legislation to control these practices, which include animal trafficking or ancestral indigenous practices.
