UN: Mr. Bourita meets with the SG of the CICA
United Nations (New York) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, held talks, Monday in New York, with the Secretary General of the Conference for Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), Kairat Sarybay.
These talks were an opportunity to examine ways to strengthen cooperation ties between Morocco and the CICA, while the Kingdom intends to obtain the status of observer state within this pan-Asian organization, declared to the press Mr. Sarybay, following this interview held on the sidelines of the 79th General Assembly of the United Nations.
“We discussed concrete measures that we can take together now and in the future” to consolidate bilateral cooperation, added Mr. Sarybay, highlighting the contribution that the Kingdom is able to make to the CICA.
Judging it necessary for this Asian grouping to strengthen its cooperation ties with Africa, the SG of the CICA, underlined in this sense the importance of taking advantage of the “important role that Morocco plays within the continent”.
“Morocco is a very dynamic economy that is experiencing rapid growth,” noted Mr. Sarybay, expressing confidence that with the Kingdom, “we can promote the establishment of solid bridges between the two parties.”
