(ANSA) – ROME, 05 SEPTEMBER – The UN has raised the alarm over the escalation of the Israeli offensive in the West Bank, noting that between 25 August and 2 September there was the “highest number of Palestinians killed in a single week” since November 2024. This was stated by OCHA (UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs) spokesman Stephane Dujarric, as reported by Anadolu. “In this period, 30 Palestinians were killed, including seven children. “Israeli forces must respect international legal standards”. Concern was expressed by OCHA in particular for the city of Hebron now controlled by Israel, where “the already difficult living conditions are further worsening”. Meanwhile, in the Gaza Strip, over 40 people have been killed in the last 24 hours, the Palestinian Ministry of Health writes on its Telegram channel. “Up to 42 people have been killed and 107 others have been injured in the last 24 hours alone. 24 hours due to incursions and bombings by Israeli forces,” he said. “The number of victims of the Israeli aggression to date has reached 40,861, with 94,398 injured,” the ministry recalls.
