UN: Taliban ban women from working for organisation

by time news

Earlier in the day, the UN mission UNAMA in Afghanistan expressed “great concern” regarding the female personnel in Afghanistan. The organization pointed out to the regime in Afghanistan in a tweet that they cannot work or provide aid without female staff.

Sources told Reuters news agency that the UN has called on all personnel in Afghanistan not to come to the office for 48 hours.

The Taliban took power in August 2021. Those in power imposed a ban on female personnel at non-governmental organizations (NGOs) at the end of last year. An exception was made, among others, for female employees of the United Nations.
