Undeclared work in hotels, huge fine

by time news

Undeclared personnel and poor attention to safety at work: almost 100 thousand euros in fines for four businesses, including hotels and restaurants, scattered throughout the province of Rimini. Two hotels, located in Misano and Cattolica respectively, also received temporary suspension of activity for having employed undeclared personnel in a percentage greater than 10%. The operation was conducted by the Operational Unit of the Carabinieri Labor Protection Group of Venice, together with the Carabinieri Labor Protection of Rimini and the military of the stations of Rimini, Cattolica, Riccione and Misano Adriatico.

Numerous checks have been carried out in recent weeks in hotels, restaurants and other establishments on the Riviera with the aim of verifying the regular employment of workers and compliance with the regulations on safety, health and hygiene in the workplace. Four businesses ended up in trouble for having employed non-compliant workers or for some serious shortcomings in terms of safety at work.

Two facilities, one in Cattolica and the other in Misano Adriatico, were caught red-handed employing illegal workers, with a percentage exceeding 10% of the total workforce. Following this discovery, operations were suspended until legal conditions were restored and the maximum fines provided for by the legislation were applied. Furthermore, there were serious breaches of worker safety. Inspections revealed a lack of staff training, the absence of preventive medical visits and a lack of personal protective equipment. In some cases, inadequate hygiene conditions and insufficient organizational measures were recorded, exposing employees to electrical risks. Among the businesses sanctioned for this reason are a restaurant in Rimini and a hotel in Cattolica, which, in addition to violating safety regulations, exposed workers to dangerous working conditions. Overall, the authorities issued 13 prescriptions to eliminate the risks identified, with the aim of bringing operations back within the limits of legality. Furthermore, a series of fines and penalties were imposed on the businesses, for a total amount exceeding 100 thousand euros.
