On Sunday night, São Paulo debuted in the Dallas Cup Sub-19 with a victory over Fulham (ING). Playing in the Cottom Bowl, Tricolor overcame its rival by 2-1, goals scored by Brito and Manso, both in the second half.
After a goalless first half, the game took a while to restart due to a lightning storm, which delayed the restart of the match. Seven minutes into the second half, after several attempts, Tricolor scored. Luís Felipe made a great move on the left and crossed into the area. Free, Brito pushed for the goal.
Shortly after, the English equalized. But right in the match, the São Paulo team got ahead again with Manso. The striker, who replaced Drummond, scored as soon as he entered the field after assisting Boer, in the 27th minute. The next match will take place this Monday (03), against Barça Academy. The game will be at 4 pm (Brasília time) at Moneygram Soccer Park, without broadcasting to Brazil – the dispute will be televised on ESPN 3 only for the United States.
Three-time champion of the dispute (1995, 2007 and 2009), São Paulo participates in the competition for the seventh time. The tricolors are in group A alongside Fulham (ING), Barça Academy (USA) and Dallas Texans (USA). Real Madrid, Botafogo, CF Monterrey (MEX) and FC Dallas (TX) form group A, while FC Midjylland (DIN), LD Alajuelense (CRC), Tigres (MEX) and Solar SC (USA) are in group C. to the semifinals the two best teams of each key. The final takes place on Sunday (09).
