Under the leadership of HM the King, Morocco consolidates its leadership in North Africa (Brazilian media)

Brasilia – Morocco, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, is strengthening its political leadership in North Africa and is continuing its march on the path of development by investing in infrastructure, education and technology, writes the Brazilian media “Poder360”.

In an article titled “Ready for Takeoff”, signed by Marcelo Tognozzi, the daily newspaper emphasizes that “today’s Morocco has taken a big step forward on the path of development, which began in the late 1950s”, after freeing itself from the yoke of colonialism, while recalling the rich historical past of the Kingdom which has aroused several covetousness. Morocco has managed to progress thanks to its political stability, the climate of security and the efficiency of its judicial system, he maintains. According to Tognozzi, if the late HM Hassan II had laid the foundations for the modernization of Morocco, where Muslims, Jews and Christians coexist in peace, HM King Mohammed VI has, since his enthronement in 1999, continued the realization of the Nation project through a series of strategic projects. In terms of infrastructure, Morocco was the first country in Africa to equip itself with a high-speed train, linking Casablanca to Tangier, the gateway to the Mediterranean, where it built a port capable of rivaling that of Rotterdam, considerably reducing the crossing time for ships coming from the south, he says, noting that large cargo ships can now dock in Tangier and redistribute their cargo onto smaller vessels, thus facilitating access to Europe and the East at clearly competitive costs. In the south of the Kingdom, he continues, the Dakhla port project is also promising, attracting industries such as the automobile, food, pharmaceutical and construction industries and stimulating the emergence of a new middle class, made up of high-level professionals. With regard to education, the author mentions the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, which trains nearly 6,000 students with English as their main language. The focus is on innovation, technology, public policy and agribusiness, Tognozzi writes. In the energy sector, Morocco has invested in clean energy production and aims to generate 52% of its consumption from solar, wind and green hydrogen by 2027, he explains. Recalling the visit to Morocco in June by Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira, Tognozzi believes that Brazil now has a great opportunity to strengthen its partnership with the Kingdom and gain access to other markets at lower costs, to the benefit of companies in both countries. “With more than 1,000 years of history and effective diplomacy, Morocco is committed to establishing partnerships with countries like Brazil to consolidate its political leadership in North Africa, and its position as a gateway to Europe and the East. The country also invests in education and innovation, while always working for peace,” he concludes.
