Under the leadership of HM the King, Morocco has made “major progress” on the economic and social levels (IMF CEO)

Washington – International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva has hailed the “major progress” made by Morocco under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, on the economic and social fronts.

In a message on the occasion of the glorious Throne Day, Ms. Georgieva added that the Moroccan economy has become, since the enthronement of His Majesty the King, “modern, highly competitive and growing and brings, above all, tangible improvements to the standard of living of the Moroccan people.”

“I was delighted, at the 2023 World Bank-IMF Annual Meetings in Marrakech, to witness first-hand Morocco’s astonishing blend of rich history and rapid development, to experience the warm hospitality of the Moroccan people, and to convey, in person, my deep respect and gratitude to His Majesty the King,” added the IMF Managing Director.

While saying she “highly appreciates this experience as well as the close partnership with Morocco”, Ms. Georgieva wished “the Sovereign and the Moroccan people happiness and prosperity”.
